APC Returns Suwam, The Old Horse to the Track.

Results from the Senatorial Election in Benue State have been announced. Apart from Dr. Gabriel Suswam who lost in 2023 to incumbent Senator Emmanuel Udende of Benue North-East, the rest are new comers to the political track.

Declaring results at the party Secretariat in Makurdi, the National Chairman of APC primary election committee for Benue State, Alhaji Sabiu Saidu Mahuta declared that out of the 162,296 total vote cast from Benue North East Senatorial District, Suswam seen as the old horse polled 131,083 to defeat the other contestants. The incumbent Udende got 1,364 while the rest in the race scored 29,848.

The Chairman declared result also of the Benue North West Senatorial District. The retired Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Benjamin Terseer Aber won the contest with 96,175 out of the 124,898 total vote cast. Incumbent Senator Titus Zam polled 2,763 votes. The rest shared from the remaining 28,723 votes.

From Benue South Senatorial District, Hon Otta Agbo was declared winner with the total vote cast of 58,760. The other contestants shared the 23,652 remnant of votes. 

Mahuta disclosed that the election was free of rancour and followed due process. He encouraged the losers to take refuge in the committee set for entertaining complaints in form of appeals to address grievances. 

Chairman of APC in the state, Dr. Benjamin Omale thanked the electoral committee with other officials for doing good job and urged the grieved members to channel their complaints through the appropriate quarters for action. He equally advised winners to embrace losers.
