Gov. Alia Praises Sankera Monarchs For Honouring Prince Wombo

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has applauded the traditional institution in Sankera land for the honour done their son, Honourable Prince Solomon Wombo.

The monarchs had honoured the House of Representatives member for the Katsina/Ala, Ukum and Logo Federal Constituency at the lavish thanksgiving service in the NKST Church, Kpanenge, Katsina Ala Local Government Area of the State.

The Deputy Governor, Barr. Sam Ode represented Governor Alia on the occasion and appreciated the monarchs for exemplary treatment of their son. He urged others to emulate the good gesture and receive attention for development of the land.

But Governor Alia said more to the honouree that benefits were apparent when respect has been accorded traditional fathers. 

According to him, the recognition done Prince Wombo was a direct result of the treatment of traditional rulers nicely by Wombo when he served as Special Adviser, Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state.

Explaining the circumstance of Wombo's appointment, Sam Ode stated that prior to the elevation, he Ode was in charge of the Bureau till his departure for the office of Minister in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which created the vacancy for the Prince to have filled.

According to him, Wombo's exceptional performance in the office satisfied the royal institution and dignified the monarchs as testified by the "Tor Sankera that whosoever takes good care of traditional rulers being the royal fathers enjoys rapid promotion."

The Governor encouraged the honouree to be unrelenting on the treatment of royal fathers to enable more experience of the blessings cover him.

Barrister Sam Ode disclosed his personal experience that when he served as Special Adviser, nice treatment of the traditional institution not only elevated him to the position of Minister but that his current position as Deputy Governor could be traced to blessings one must not underrate!
