BIPC Making Us Proud – Alia

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has applauded the efforts of the management of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) for its visionary business exploits aimed at modernizing the state to be comparable with others in the country.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Sam Ode (PhD), he commended Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, the Managing Director of BIPC, for the launch of Eco City Estate, designed to produce smart houses in the state.

The Governor expressed delight with the initiative, noting that it aligned with his administration's resolve to add value to the lives of the people. He described the appointment of Asemakaha as that of a “square peg in a square hole.”

He further noted that the establishment of businesses across the state by Asemakaha was heartwarming and had given Benue a good reputation.

Alia acknowledged the gesture as a revolution championed by Asemakaha, whom he described as an investment icon. He stated that the feat was the first of its kind in the history of the state.

The Governor said the project was in line with the mission and vision of his administration to make life enjoyable, already facilitated by quality roads provided across the state.

Alia added that the progress signified thresholds and indicators for developing the state to be at par with others in the country.

He urged the people to take advantage of the opportunity by being part of the progress of democratic governance in order to enjoy the benefits that flow from it. The Governor also called for full patronage of the project to ensure that indigenes are the clear beneficiaries.

Speaking at the event, Asemakaha explained that his decision to establish the estate was born out of a genuine desire to meet two key needs: reducing the acute housing deficit and crashing the cost of accommodation faced by people in the state.

He clarified that the idea behind the establishment of the estate was to remodel the architectural landscape of the state for sustainability and affordability.

According to him, the adoption of new technology in the housing sector was novel to residents and would provide a friendly environment that beautifies and elevates the status of host communities.

The General Manager, Mrs. Lucy Jato, added that the estate would be built on four hectares of land, divided into two phases. The first phase would accommodate thirty-five housing units on one hectare, while the second would provide seventy units comprising duplexes, boys’ quarters, and bungalows.

She explained that BIPC would make available both fully completed and semi-completed housing units for intending applicants. Jato further assured that forms would be sold transparently to interested members of the public.
