Benue Youth Group Declares Support For Mathias Byuan’s 2027 Governorship Bid

A coalition of youth groups under the banner of Benue People’s Project 2027 has formally endorsed Dr. Mathias Byuan as their preferred candidate for the Benue State governorship race in 2027, highlighting his commitment to community upliftment and youth empowerment.
At a press briefing held in Makurdi, leaders of the organisation praised Dr. Byuan’s contributions to human development, noting that his track record positions him as a credible option for the state’s top job. They urged Benue residents to rally behind what they described as a “youth-driven project for a progressive future.”
Speaking on behalf of the group, Comrade Sani Adamu and Comrade Oliver Akume said Dr. Byuan’s long-standing engagement with young people has demonstrated both capacity and sincerity of purpose.
Adamu explained that the Benue People’s Project 2027, which draws membership from all 23 local government areas and claims a base of about 2.3 million youths and students, exists to champion unity, development, and democratic participation across the state.
He added that the organisation has been instrumental in promoting peace-building initiatives and advocating for policies that advance social and economic transformation.
The group also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Dr. Byuan as Director of Accounts, Finance and Budget at the Federal Housing Authority. They described the governorship hopeful as a detribalised Nigerian whose mentorship and philanthropic gestures have positively impacted many people, particularly youths and students.
