VOTE FOR TINUBU-Alia Tells APC Members

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) members across the state to turn up in large numbers and vote the incumbent President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the Presidential primary election the All Progressives Congress (APC) holds in the state today. Alia who described Tinubu as the "leader committed to the progress of the country and the APC" said the majority vote in the election would guarantee accomplishment of the president's desire to better the lives of people.

Tinubu is contesting the presidential election with Stanley Osifor. Alia serves as the coordinator and collation officer for the party's primary election in the state.

After distribution of materials for the election at the party's secretariat in Makurdi, Alia who addressed supporters explained that the polls would be held in 267 council wards of the state. He assured of adequate arrangements for logistics to enable peaceful and credible conduct of the exercise.

The Governor addressed people also on his victory from the recently held party's governorship primary election which he won. He said "my victory today again signifies that Benue State is APC and Benue people will vote massively for our President."

He commended members for their continued support for his administration and said, the confidence reposed in him reflected public appreciation of the ongoing development projects across the state.

Alia said "it tells me how much love you have for me. It tells me how much confidence you have in what we are doing in Benue State." 

The Governor attributed what he called as "growing support for his administration to investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure and industrialisation across the state" and said, it stirred up the administration's resolve to revive the several abandoned sectors, particularly primary healthcare and the basic education before he assumed office.

He said "we went back to rebuilding the primary schools because they were completely dead. We have employed about 9,700 teachers and our children are back in school." 

According to the Governor pupils from primary one to junior secondary schools enjoy free basic education under his administration.

He said "our children are now going to school. The basic education from primary one to JSS 3 is free of charge." 

About healthcare, Governor Alia disclosed that his administration embarked on rehabilitation of primary healthcare centres across the state and also strengthened the tertiary health institutions.

Alia acknowledged that people experiencing the temporary inconvenience caused by ongoing road construction projects in Makurdi and other parts of the state may bear with him and assured residents that infrastructural projects would bring lasting development to the state.

Other areas Governor Alia highlighted included the administration's efforts to industrialize the state and create employment for the youth through factories and investment-driven projects.

He said "our youths are already being engaged at the juice factory, the water factory and the bakery. More industries are coming because we want our young people to work and become productive." 

He appeal to party faithful to sustain their support for his administration and said that governance must remain people-oriented and development-driven.

He said "I am here for service. I am here with the people and for the people." Calling for the unity among political leaders and citizens of the state, Alia stressed the need for collective commitment towards the growth and development of Benue State.
