Benue APC Clears Tinubu For Re-election 0

All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Benue State have cleared incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reelection in the 2027 presidential election in Nigeria.

Announcing results from the party's presidential primary election held in the state on Saturday, 23rd May 2026, the State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia who served as the returning officer for the presidential primary election of the APC declared in Makurdi that the incumbent polled 374,787 votes to defeat his opponent, Osifor Stanley who received 779 votes from the party members in Benue State.

The returning officer stated that the exercise was free of rancour and conducted in line with the electoral law as well as the APC constitution. 

According to the officer, having gone round the state to monitor the exercise held peacefully and witnessed impressive turnout justified description of the election as "credible."

The Governor thanked the national secretariat of the APC, the state working committee and stakeholders who included top notch party members as well as security agents for their tireless efforts to succeed on the exercise.

With the development, Alia expressed hope that the commitment by members of the party would facilitate winning of the presidential and other positions in the 2027 general elections by the APC. 

He urged party faithful to sustain their support for victory to all the contestants on the platform of the party.

The returning officer stated equally that results from the election would be taken to the National Secretariat of APC in Abuja swiftly for submission.
